Thank you for your support of the 2025 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run taking place on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
The 2025 race will finish in The Navy Yard.
START AREA INFORMATION: PLEASE NOTE – THE START TIME IS 7:00 A.M.
2025 CORRAL AND WAVE LINE UP
Corral Assignments and race bib numbers were based on the anticipated finish times that were provided when you registered.
The Green Corral will line up on Somerville Avenue
This year we have designed a new access route for Green Corral participants to get into the Green Corral on Somerville Ave.
From the subway stops at Broad and Olney, Green Corral participants should follow the new directional sign system leading to the Green Corral. These signs will direct you to walk down the West side of Broad Street (the side across from Einstein Medical Center) a short distance to enter the Girls High School property via the stairway leading up from Broad Street. These signs will direct you through the Girls High School parking lot to the Green Corral, to rest rooms and pre-race water along the way, to gear buses, and then past the gear buses to Ogontz Ave. directly to the Green Corral. This new access route will enable you to access water, portable toilets, and gear buses and then get directly into the Green Corral without having to encounter the crowds trying to enter the other corrals along the way.
All runners must be in their proper corral by 6:40 am.
If you are planning to run with a slower runner, please line up in their corral. Slower runners should not move up to a faster corral.
NEW: AN AREA WILL BE SET UP AT THE START WITH AN AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER. IF YOU NEED ACCESS TO THIS AREA, PLEASE E-MAIL [email protected] FOR INSTRUCTIONS.
IPICO TIMING DEVICE – IT STAYS ON THE BIB!
We will be utilizing the IPICO timing system, a single-use bib tag. The timing device is embedded in the race bib. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your race bib number that you receive matches the number in our system. Find your bib number.
Clearly visible on the front of the torso unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
Pinned in all four corners and not covered (jackets, runner belts, etc.)
GEAR CHECK PROCEDURE FOR 2025- ARRIVE EARLY TO AVOID DELAYS!
All gear check buses will be located at the start area on Olney Avenue, Old York Road, and Widener Drive.
YOU ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO BRING AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE WITH YOU TO THE START OF THE RACE.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE VISIBLE.
NO BACKPACKS ARE PERMITTED IN THE START AREA.
CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS MUST BE USED FOR GEAR CHECK.
YOU CANNOT PLACE YOUR BACKPACKS IN THE CLEAR BAGS.
ALL ITEMS BROUGHT INTO THE START AREA ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AND/OR CONFISCATION.
Buses will NOT be loaded by BIB NUMBER, you can check your gear on any bus. To have your extra clothing and gear transported from the start of the race to the finish area, you must use a clear plastic bag and mark it with the official gear check identification wristband that will be provided at the gear bus. Look for the yellow school buses at various locations around the start area. At the finish, display your gear check identification wristband to the volunteers, and your items will be returned to you. Runners should place a business card or mailing label and phone number inside their bag to help with identifying it after the race.
ALL GEAR MUST BE CHECKED ONTO THE BUSES BY 6:30 A.M. SO THEY CAN DEPART FOR THE FINISH LINE.
When you check your gear, you will be handed two matching wristbands and a sticker. The wristbands and sticker have your bus number and individual bag number printed on them.
Put some form of identification, including your name, address, and phone number, inside your bag in case we need to contact you after the race.
NEW IN 2025: Gear check pick-up will now be located on S. 13th St. and Intrepid Ave. Consult the finish line map at www.broadstreetrun.com/raceguide

GOING GREEN – HOW YOU CAN HELP
Walk or take SEPTA to get around the city
Ask your hotel to not change your sheets and towels with each cleaning service
Make use of our Big Belly solar-powered trash cans while exploring Center City Philadelphia
Visit local businesses – local production leaves less of a carbon footprint
Return cups and other products to the proper containers for recycling/composting after use.
Even our Health & Wellness Expo is “going green.” The Pennsylvania Convention Center, which hosts the Expo, performs single stream recycling to divert waste from landfills. The recent expansion of the Pennsylvania Convention Center achieved LEED® certification in 2011.
