Blue Cross Broad Street Run Participants,

Like many races across the country, we have been evaluating our plans for 2021 in light of the continued spread of COVID-19 in Philadelphia and across the United States. At this time, it is clear that we could not safely hold the Blue Cross Broad Street Run in May. As a result, we’ve decided to delay the 2021 Blue Cross Broad Street Run to the fall.

Our team is in communication with the City of Philadelphia to ensure that when the race is held, it is done with public health and safety as our top priority. While the future trajectory of COVID-19 is still unknown, we are hopeful that we’ll be able to welcome you all this fall for the 2021 Broad Street Run. We will share the date of the 2021 race as soon as plans are finalized.

Because of the change to this year’s race, there will be no lottery for registration as is traditionally our procedure. Anyone who was registered in 2020 will have the opportunity to register for 2021 at a discounted rate. When registration opens, those who were registered for the 2020 race will receive an e-mail from RunSignUp.com with a link to register with the 20% discount.

An FAQ has been developed to answer some of your questions, and we’ll continue to update prospective participants, volunteers, and spectators as more information becomes available.

We appreciate your dedication to the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, as well as your flexibility and understanding as we all continue to navigate the unprecedented challenges presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
