The City of Philadelphia and race organizers of the 2023 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run announced that non-binary runners can qualify for award prizes for this year’s race.
The top 5 runners who registered as non-binary to cross the finish line will receive the same amount of prize money as the top male and female finishers:
1st Place Male, Female, and Non-Binary: $3,000 and award
2nd Place Male, Female, and Non-Binary: $1,500 and award
3rd Place Male, Female, and Non-Binary: $1,000 and award
4th Place Male, Female, and Non-Binary: $750 and award
5th Place Male, Female, and Non-Binary: $500 and award
This is the first year that the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run will award prize money to non-binary runners in an effort to recognize identity and increase inclusivity of the 10-mile race.
