Runners who can document an elite performance better than or equal to the top five open finishers (M/F) or top master finisher (M/F) in the 2009 Blue Cross Broad Street Run may submit a request for an elite complimentary entry into the 2010 field. All applicants must submit documentation of a comparable performance in the form of a link to a results page from a ten-miler, half marathon or marathon within the last two years with their request. Seeded entry:
Runners who can document a performance better than or equal to the top fifty (50) open finishers (M/F) or top five (5) master finishers (M/F) in the 2009 Blue Cross Broad Street Run may submit a request for a seeded position in the first corral. All applicants must submit documentation of a comparable performance in the form of a results page from a ten-miler, half marathon or marathon within the last two years with their request. Submit request by email to BSRElites@gmail.com , Attention: Seeded placement request.

Over $18,000 in prize money for 2010!
There will be a $1,000.00 course record bonus paid to the male or female winner if they better the existing course records. All prize money winners must have a 2010 USATF membership before prize money is awarded (except wheelchair winners.) The Awards Ceremony will begin tentatively at 10:00 AM.
In accordance with USATF rules, the official time for awarding prize money will be the gun time, not the net time for each runner,

All money winners must report to the stage area to complete verification forms prior to acceptance. Current 2010 USATF membership numbers will be needed within thirty (30) days after the race, before individual prize money is awarded. Prize winners will be issued their check within 30 days of receipt of the completed verification forms and their 2010 USATF number. A USATF number is not required for wheelchair participants.
THE INDEPENDENCE CUP
The Independence Cup is a trophy, engraved with the names of the winners from the past 30 years. It will be presented to the top male, female and wheelchair division winners. The cup is permanent display inside the lobby of the G. Fred DiBona, Jr. Building at Independence Blue Cross Headquarters at 1901 Market Street.

Richard Lagocki Memorial Awards
The Richard Lagocki Memorial Awards, are presented to the first Philadelphia residents, in the Open Male, Open Female, Open Male Wheelchair and Open Female Wheelchair Divisions.
Prize money in the amount of $250.00 is awarded to each of the Richard Lagocki Memorial Award Winners. Proof of residency is required.

Drug Testing
Athletes who participate in the competition may be subject to formal drug testing in accordance with the IAAF Procedural Guidelines for Doping Control or the Olympic Movement Anti-Doping Code. Drug testing, and the adjudication of positive findings, will be carried out by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). Athletes found to have committed a doping violation will be disciplined according to USADA Protocol and suspended, if appropriate, according to IAAF rules. Such penalties may result in a period of ineligibility as well as disqualification from the event. Any substance taken by an athlete is at his/her own risk and may result in a positive sample. (This includes cold medicines, nutritional supplements and some over the counter medicines).
